Abbey began her exploration of yoga in 2005 while working as a high school teacher in Asheville, seeking a practice that could help her unwind and reconnect. After her very first class, she felt a spark—“I just want to do this all the time. Imagine how amazing it would be to teach yoga, to help people feel good,” she told a friend. That seed grew into a lifelong commitment.
Over the next decade, Abbey found her home in mindful vinyasa flow—a balance of calm and strength that helped her soften control, reduce stress, and discover the healing power of breath and present-moment awareness. Yoga shifted from something she did to a way she lived, creating a ripple effect she felt called to share.
After the birth of her second daughter, Abbey completed her 200-hour YTT in Greenville, SC, and spent the next several years teaching in studios, breweries, amphitheaters, and community spaces. In January 2023, she opened Zen Rabbit Yoga in Travelers Rest, SC—where she now owns, operates, and lovingly nurtures a thriving, heart-centered community.
Since opening the studio, Abbey has completed her 300-hour YTT at Asheville Yoga Center, helped lead three 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs at Zen Rabbit Yoga, and accumulated over 2,500 teaching hours. She is dedicated to upholding the integrity, inclusivity, and accessibility of yoga, and to cultivating training programs rooted in embodiment, wisdom, and heart.
Students often describe Abbey as warm, uplifting, and deeply encouraging. She is passionate about helping others discover what they are capable of while creating space that invites people to feel at home in their bodies, just as they are. She is also known for her unique playlists that enhance the energy, collective spirit, and soulful vibration of the class. Her teaching blends mindful strength with ease, offering practices that support resilience, presence, and authentic self-connection.
