Julie fell in love with yoga in 2000 when a friend sketched out stick figures doing Sun Salutations on a strip of paper for her, so she could practice in her College dorm.
She soon became a daily practitioner, practicing through 2 pregnancies, including her last in 2016, when her water broke after class in the yoga studio!
Julie practiced Bikram Yoga daily for 12 years in Atlanta and then discovered her love for Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. She received her 200-hr Anusara-inspired Vinyasa yoga teacher certification in 2019 at Decatur Yoga & Pilates in Atlanta. She has additional certifications in both Pranakriya-Yin and Grounded Kids Yoga. Julie has been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation for many years and will use her experience to encourage students to go inward and find the stillness within each posture.
She is a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition after graduating in May of 2018 and she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, at the University of Ga. in 2003.
Julie recently moved to Travelers Rest from Atlanta with her 2 daughters Jocelyn 16, & Juniper 6. They share their home with 2 rescue pups and a cat. Outside of yoga, she’s passionate about nutrition, travel and enjoying nature.
