Welcome. I'm so happy you're here!

IN THIS ISSUE: all about lemons.
+ Living your Yoga, Healthy Habits, Highlight, and Something Special

Living Your Yoga
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." ok. But some days, nobody's handing you anything. Someone just chucks a lemon at your face and walks off.
It's like the day you finally clear your calendar, kitchen is clean, nag champa burning & your favorite music playing in the background — and then someone decides this is the day to send That message. Suddenly, your very zen Tuesday has a lemon-shaped dent in it.
On some level, I'd bet most of us have a version of this story.

Here's the "off the mat" practice: SLOW DOWN & PAUSE before you react. Get clear - listen to your inner wisdom. It's there underneath the fiery feeling. To find it try your favorite pranayama practice (Nadi Shodhana, Box Breath, or even just a couple minutes of Ujjayi), do a couple Sun Salutations, or go for a walk outside.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." - Viktor E. Frankl

Make it beautiful by staying grounded in your own kindness, even when it would feel easier not to. Then — just do the next best thing.
Living your Yoga is when the next best thing stands on ahimsa (non-harming) as its foundation, brahmacharya (right use of energy) as its boundary, and shanti (peace) as its heart.

Healthy Habits
I love Lemons!
Every morning, first thing, I grab one of my favorite mugs, heat water in the kettle, and squeeze fresh lemon juice.
Why starting your day with warm lemon water works:
πŸ‹ Warm water is gentler on the system, absorbs faster, and allows for deeper cellular hydration.
πŸ‹ Great for warming the digestive fire before you eat. Warm liquids stimulate the GI tract to get things moving. The citric acid in lemons also supplements your stomach's natural acids to break down food
πŸ‹ Lemons add a little dose of Vitamin C to the start of your day.
