Just stretching and breathing.
The quick rundown: 45 minutes of simple movement and deep stretches, targeting the commonly tight muscles throughout the body.
This is NOT a “vinyasa flow” yoga class.
It will be accessible for all bodies. Modification can be made for current conditions / injuries. All are welcome.
As we age, muscles tend to become tighter due to changes in muscle tissue composition, including a decrease in water content. Muscle fibers shrink and cartilage thins causing stiffness surrounding joints and limiting range of motion.
Deep stretching can release muscle tension and tightness. Deep breathing during streching increases oxygen flow to muscles, which can help with relaxation and faster recovery.
Side note:
I am using the word “stretch”, but really what we are doing is opening and releasing while finding length and space.
